The completion of the seven pounds of rice corresponding to the month of August, which include two pounds of donation and five normal ones, concentrate the efforts of the territory for the distribution of the standardized family basket in the province of Guantánamo, as explained this week in a meeting on the subject at the headquarters of the provincial Government.

They specified that currently the municipality with the most delay is Imías, where the delivery of the 10 ounces of beans and peas must also be completed.

Warehouses in the municipalities of Manuel Tames and Guantánamo are also yet to receive beans, where the food should arrive in the next few days.

The salt for the quarter of June, July and August has already been delivered in its entirety, while the compote continues to be delayed in the territories of Guantánamo and Imías, due to difficulties with transportation.

The canned meat, which is delivered to the Plan Turquino areas, is being completed in Maisí, Baracoa and San Antonio del Sur.

Only the beef of the month has been delivered in Caimanera and Boquerón.

The poultry company reported that the distribution of eggs so far has been carried out in Baracoa, and with the remainder only consumption is guaranteed for hospitals, schools and other priority centers for the care of social cases. Quail eggs are being marketed for pregnant women.
